Mountain heart of Handan — temple cliffs, cloud peaks, and wild flavors

She County (涉县) is Handan's mountain crown jewel, tucked deep in the Taihang range along the Shanxi border. This is where two of Handan's six headline attractions — Wahuang Palace and Wuzhi Mountain — rise from the same dramatic landscape. The county seat is a modest mountain town of 400,000 people, serving as the gateway to some of northern China's most spectacular temple architecture and hiking terrain.
