Wu'an (武安) is a county-level city nestled in the Taihang foothills just 70km west of Handan. Think of it as Handan's nature capital — home to Jingniang Lake, multiple scenic canyons, and some of the region's best hiking. The city itself is a compact industrial-turned-tourism hub with good infrastructure for visitors. Most travelers use Wu'an as a base for exploring the western Taihang range, combining lake cruises with mountain trails in a single day trip.
