Tai Chi's birthplace — ancient walls, morning mist, and legendary flavors

Yongnian District (永年区) is one of Handan's six urban districts, but it feels a world apart. This is where the moat-ringed Guangfu Ancient City — a complete Ming Dynasty walled settlement — gave birth to Yang-style and Wu-style Tai Chi, two of the world's five major schools. Beyond the walls, Yongnian is the epicenter of Handan's most famous culinary exports: donkey sausage and crispy fish. Every food souvenir you take home from Handan likely originated right here.
